Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company PLC started her operation as a cottage industry nearly thirty-five years ago. Present chairman Mr. Lal Keerthi Gunawardhana, being the aviator, sailed the ship successfully and confidently in pain and gain equally. The fun-making job has established a brand in Sri Lanka’s dairy industry, making news in the world of business. The company has shouldered the country’s economy directly by collecting raw milk from local farmers and providing a significant number of jobs. The courage and the stimulation Lucky provides to the local dairy farmers indirectly save our foreign exchange. At present the company produces a range of yogurt varieties, sterilized flavored milk, ice cream, and fruit nectar under the ‘Lucky’ brand. It was our company that introduced probiotic yogurt to the Sri Lankan market when the company was a limited liability firm as ‘Lucky Lanka Dairies (Pvt) Ltd. As our future plans, we are opening direct company outlets all over the island. This project will save the profit within the company itself. However, other Lucky products are also available in these milk bars.
